“In line with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), China aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by 17% cumulatively, while continuing to promote green and low-carbon transformation in key sectors.”
“We will strengthen effective regulation of high-energy, high-emissions projects, accelerate the retirement of aging manufacturing facilities, and support innovation and the use of clean, low-carbon technologies and equipment. We will improve the system of resource management and integrated energy conservation, while simultaneously increasing the level of processing of renewable resources.” ...
“Greens” became the defining theme of the entire Government Performance Report 2026. From reducing carbon emissions to phasing out aging manufacturing facilities and promoting resource recycling, every policy directive calls for greener production methods and cleaner technological pathways.
As a magnetic technology equipment manufacturer, Shenyang Longi faces a fundamental question: What can we contribute to this green transformation? The answer lies not in pompous slogans, but in:
Every project where sustainable practices are introduced;
Every technological breakthrough that reduces environmental impact;
Every ton of resources reused as part of circular economy solutions.
PART 1. Greening the mining industry
Mining: source of resources, frontier of green transition
Mines are at the heart of resource supply, but they are also large consumers of energy and emitters of carbon dioxide. The true green transformation must start here.
Ansteel has implemented a national demonstration project on advanced green low carbon technologies - a waste processing and municipal solid waste initiative. Shenyang Longi, as the main supplier of technology and complete equipment, operates more than one hundred of its machines on site around the clock.
The project processes 24 million tons of iron ore waste annually, resulting in 2.2 million tons of high-quality iron ore concentrate (65% purity). This achievement is equivalent to not building a new mining and processing complex with an annual capacity of 8.5 million tons - while achieving the same output with a much lower environmental impact.
By converting stockpiled beneficiation waste into usable resources—from ore sorting to extracting valuable metals—the project minimizes waste and reduces environmental burden. Its advantages are obvious:
✔ Fewer new mines - preservation of natural landscapes
✔ Less land use – reduced habitat disturbance
✔ Less waste dumping means less pollution.
✔ Reduced carbon footprint – achieving more with less
This is Shenyang Longi's practical pursuit of environmentally friendly mining, where innovation is combined with local sustainable development.
PART 02 Greening solid waste management
Where should steel slag be disposed of? How to handle red mud?
These pressing environmental concerns plague countless steel and alumina producers. But for Shenyang Longi, this so-called “waste” is simply unused resources. The real question is: how can we turn this burden into value—green and low-carbon value?
The answer starts with iron extraction.
Shenyang Longi Tangshan steel slag recycling line has been running steadily for many years, achieving two breakthroughs:
✔ Reduction of harmful emissions and the need for secondary smelting
✔ Highly efficient iron extraction + waste treatment
With iron content in the magnetic concentrate exceeding 50% and residual metal levels well below industry averages, the system processes 700,000 tonnes of slag per year, recovering over 7,000 tonnes of iron – delivering tangible economic benefits and promoting circular industry principles. goals.
Leaders in iron recovery from red mud
Shenyang Longi has developed an advanced iron extraction technology specifically designed to solve the unique problems associated with red mud: fine particle size, high viscosity, elevated temperature and extreme alkalinity (pH 14+).
Our targeted magnetic separation process provides:
✔ High-grade iron concentrate (achievable Fe content >60%)
✔ Energy efficient and modular design – adaptable to existing alumina refineries
✔ Proven industrial application - successfully implemented in several refineries
By converting this hazardous byproduct into recovered metal, we transform red mud from a liability to an asset in the circular economy.
PART 03 Greening the circular economy
Accelerating "urban resource extraction": turning waste into circular assets
How can we unlock the true potential of 'urban mines' as urbanization accelerates - from household waste to used EV batteries and discarded household appliances? Shenyang Longi began answering this question back in 2000 when it developed China's first eddy current separator, establishing itself as a pioneer in waste-to-resource technology.
This breakthrough laid the foundation for Longi's subsequent role as the developer of the Chinese industry standard (GB/T "Eddy Current Separators for Non-Ferrous Metals in Solid Waste"). For more than two decades, our mission has remained the same:
“No resource should be left behind” - ensuring that every gram of metal, every recyclable component is identified, recovered and reintegrated into industrial cycles.
"Precision recycling for a regenerative future"
For decades, Shenyang Longi has pioneered closed-loop recycling innovations, from micro-level metal recovery from steel scrap to ultra-pure 99.9% pure recycled aluminum for the aerospace industry. Our engineering philosophy remains unchanged:
“Converting every gram of waste into industrial value.
From mines to factories, from waste to wealth: Longi's pragmatic green revolution"
In mines, smelters and urban centers - processing everything from steel slag to red clay - Shenyang Longi's more than 20 years of on-the-ground work embodies a simple credo:
"Greener resources." "Smarter Cycles."
No flashy statistics, just patented eddy current breakthroughs. No empty promises, just proven recovery rates. When the Chinese government's work report calls for "green equipment innovation," we see it as both a roadmap and a responsibility.
In the future, we will pay special attention to:
✔ R&D in magnetic separation to unlock hidden metal value
✔ Pilot projects on waste-free production with leading steel companies
✔ Integration of carbon accounting into all processing streams
Because real sustainability is not proclaimed - it is developed gram by gram.
